LONGUEUIL: Per capita income rose by 3.8% in 2017 in Longueuil

Per capita disposable income rose by 3.8% in Longueuil in 2017. Numbers recently published by the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) show that the disposable income grew from 30 214$ in 2016 to 31 351$ in 2017. Per capita disposable income is defined by the amount of discretionary income an individual has to purchase goods and services. Higher disposable income generally means a higher amount of consumer spending.

LONGUEUIL: Varitron launches first Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Canada dedicated to electronics card assembly and printed electronics

Varitron officially announced the opening of the first Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Canada dedicated to electronic card assembly and printed electronics. Set in the C2MI research centre facility in Bromont, the Advanced Manufacturing Centre will offer state-of-the-art equipment in the printed electronics, circuit assembly, nano protection and advanced cooling fields, as well as an integrated supply chain leading to high-volume production.

A new partnership between Longueuil-based Orckestra Technologies and Logient will help Orckestra, a leading provider of modern commerce solutions, develop new markets in Quebec and increase its capacity to deliver projects. The partnership will allow Logient to expand their offering of cutting-edge ecommerce and content management systems and to offer their customers Orckestra Commerce Cloud to help them overcome the challenges of digital retail. Logient will contribute to the development and integration of Orckestra solutions to help to position Orckestra as the optimal platform for retail ebusiness.

LONGUEUIL: Successful economic mission for DEL and five Longueuil companies

A recent economic mission in Germany, in wich participated five Longueuil-based companies and Développement économique de l’agglomération de Longueuil (DEL), was deemed successful by its organisers. The delegation took part in Hannover Messe at the beginning of April, and its participants were able to learn of the latest advances in robotics, engineering and nanotechnology. GLM, Groupe Paco Spiralift, OCX Services, Varitron and VibroSystM, all from Longueuil, took part in the mission.

LONGUEUIL: Agropur most trusted dairy products brand in Canada says survey

Agropur recently was selected as the most trusted diary products brand in Canada by a survey of 7200 Canadians initiated by the University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business. Nine of Agropur’s brands (Natrel, OKA, iÖGO, Olympic, L'Extra, Farmers, Island Farms, Québon et Sealtest) were submitted to the survey participants, wich also ranked the Longueuil-based company in the top 3 overall on the "values-based trust" dimension among the 313 Canadian brands scored by respondents. Values-based trust measures consumer perceptions of the brand's social responsibility and faithfulness to its values. The Gustavson Index has been publishing an annual ranking of brands highlighting how community engagement, relationship management and customer experience influence consumer trust.

Agropur gets 225 000$ in financial aid to develop the first dairy businesses accelerator in North America

Quebec’s government recently granted Agropur a $225 000 financial aid to develop Inno Accel, the first dairy businesses accelerator in North America. Launched last year, its mission is to attract high-potential start-ups in order to reinvent dairy and quickly bring the most exciting innovations to market.

LONGUEUIL: Molson’s brewery in Longueuil will be more efficient

The three new production lines of Molson’s new brewery in Longueuil will be much more efficient than the ones actually used in Montreal.  According to a La Presse article, the factory director, Jacques Girouard, revealed to employees in a meeting that the cans production chain will upgrade from the 1600 cans a minute it’s producing now in Montreal to 1900 and maybe even 2100 a minute, an increase of 18% to 31%

LONGUEUIL: Foodarom gets a 220 000$ financial assistance from federal government to continue its growth

Foodarom recently got a $220 000 financial aid from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions to continue its fast growth. The Longueuil-based company, specialized in the creation of custom food flavor, used the repayable contribution to finance a portion of its marketing activities and hire a resource dedicated to developing the brand in Europe.

Historical year for Innergex in 2018

2018 was an historic year for Innergex Renewable Energy. Revenues were up by 44% to 576.6 M$, and the company completed seven acquisitions that added 14 new operating facilities. President and Chief Executive Officer Michel Letellier said that this very busy year for Innergex served as the springboard for expanding its presence in both Canada and new international markets.
