LONGUEUIL: DBOX continues its growth on the race simulator market

Technologies D-BOX recently took the opportunity to state its continued growth on the race simulator market. Presenting its second quarter results, D-BOX revealed that, in collaboration with British-Colombia-based VRX, it teamed up with Microsoft and the McLaren Group to launch the world’s most upscale Forza Simulator as part of Microsoft's flagship store in London, UK. The simulator is built on a McLaren Senna chassis, interfaces with Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One and integrates D-BOX Motion Systems. Porsche and Sifat also unveiled a new racing simulator with D-BOX Motion Systems at the launch of the Porsche Taycan in Barcelona, in order to replicate a realistic driving experience.

LONGUEUIL: Héroux-Devtek’s revenues increase by 52% for its second quarter

Héroux-Devtek had an excellent second quarter with revenues going up to $145,5 millions, an increase of 52,1% compared to the same quarter last year. Martin Brassard, CEO, explains that the growth comes in large part from the commercial and defense sectors. The Longueuil-based company showed record-breaking funded backlog of $769 millions. Héroux-Devtek also revealed the successful completion by Boeing of the first test flight for the MQ-25 unmanned aerial refueler for which Héroux-Devtek provides complete landing gear systems.

LONGUEUIL: Characterization studies to be done on the Zone d’innovation site in Longueuil

A $1.5 million contract for characterization studies on the proposed site for the future «Zone d’innovation» project in Longueuil has been awarded to Englobe Corps. The contract includes the execution of geotechnical studies for two street sections to be included in the project. The «zones d’innovation» projects objectives are to attract compagnies by regrouping research, innovation and entrepreneurship activities.

LONGUEUIL: Vieux-Longueuil, champion of construction and renovation permits in 2019

The Vieux-Longueuil borough was the all-category champion for construction and renovation permits for the first half of 2019 in the Montérégie. The borough allowed 707 construction permits for a total of $ 138.1 millions. It also gave out 2545 renovation permits, for a total of $ 31 millions, wich represents 21.2% of all permits emitted in the region between January and June.

LONGUEUIL: The residential market stays red hot in Longueuil for the third trimester

The residential market stayed red hot in Longueuil in the third trimester, with sales growing by 16% compared to 2018. According to the Quebec Professionnal Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), Saint-Lambert (+11.8%), Vieux-Longueuil (+25.2%) and Saint-Hubert (+21.2%) boroughs all saw strong increases for August, September and October. The QPAREB counted 1061 sales, 169 more than it inventoried for the same period last year.

LONGUEUIL: Alliance Zone and BBQ Québec part of 2019 Growth Leaders in Quebec rankings

Alliance Zone et BBQ Québec are ranked in L’Actualité’s 2019 Growth Leaders in Quebec rankings. The two Longueuil-based companies are respectively ranked ninth and 27th. The ranking rounds up the top 100 Quebec-based companies that showed the strongest revenue increase between 2015 and 2018. Alliance zone saw its sales go up by 576%, and is now generating $2.5 millions per employee. BBQ Québec got a 183% revenue raise, and its revenues are now between $5 millions and $10 millions.

LONGUEUIL: Wiptec-Drakkar will open its new online orders preparation centre in 2021

Wiptec-Drakkar will open its one million square feet online orders preparation center at the start of 2021. The Longueuil-based company revealed, in a Transport Routier article, that construction should start next spring. It will employ, when finished, 1000 workers to be able to answer for the growing online sales. Vice-president of strategy and business development, Michel Girard, explained that the centre will be more than a simple warehouse. It will look like an anthill, with people all over the place preparing online orders.

LONGUEUIL: Chrono Aviation holds a ground-breaking ceremony for a new $12 millions hangar

Chrono Aviation recently held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new $12 millions hangar that will be built at Montreal-Saint-Hubert airport. The hangar will employ 40 people as soon as 2020, when it is ready to open. Subsidiaries of Chrono Aviation, like Waas Aerospace, will take up space in it. Waas, wich is specialized un planes and avionics maintenance, like Cessna and Boeing, will transfer its headquarters. The new hangar will have state of the art installations that will make it 100% autonomous: paint room, machine shop, avionics and structure workshops, cold room to manufacture commodities destined to Quebec’s Great North and a 100-seating area restaurant to accommodate Chrono Aviation’s employees.
