LONGUEUIL: Longueuil’s Cégep Édouard-Montpetit among top R&D schools

When it comes to research and development, Cégep Édouard-Montpetit (CEM) ranks 13th among Canadian colleges, with a budget of $5,177,000 for the 2017-2018 academic year. The lion’s share of the funds, $4,935,000, was allocated to the CEM-affiliated Centre technologique en aérospatiale (CTA) in Saint-Hubert. CEM ranks 5th in Québec among Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges 2019, released in November by Research Infosource.

LONGUEUIL: WIPTEC chooses Longueuil as the site of its $70-M order fulfillment centre

At its meeting on February 18, Longueuil City Council approved a promise to purchase by Immocorpo Inc. for the acquisition of land located in the airport zone, for a total cost of $8 M, representing the second largest transaction to take place in this strategic development sector. The transaction pertains to the purchase of 1.8 million sq. ft. of land for the construction of an industrial facility worth more than $70 M.

LONGUEUIL : Agropur on a major leap

The dairy cooperative, headquartered in Longueuil, continues to receive honors and is delighted with its rising turnover in 2019. Agropur, which ranks among the 20 most important players in the world he dairy industry continued to grow, reaching sales of $ 7.3 billion, up 10.2% compared to the previous year. Longueuil-based Knowlton Development Corporation (KDC/ONE), a world-leading formulator and manufacturer of beauty products, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Shanghai Paristy Daily Chemical Co., Ltd. (« Paristy »), one of the world’s largest formulators and manufacturers of colour cosmetics, located in Shanghai, China.
